The day of November 29 is a special day for the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the Northwest Regional Program 2021-2027. In 2022, the event for the official launch of the program took place, and a year later the first financing contract was signed.
The contract signed on Wednesday evening ensures the financing of a project related to Priority 5 – An accessible region, through the call for projects for the construction/rehabilitation of secondary road links to the road network and TEN-T nodes [PRNV/2023/521/1].
The project is implemented by the Bihor County Council and will contribute to increasing the quality of the road infrastructure around Oradea, will ensure road access, through Apuseni, to Cluj county and will contribute to the development of tourism in the area. Also, the development of the transport infrastructure is accompanied by complementary investments dedicated to afforestation and the planting of trees along the rehabilitated transport routes.
Through the North-West Regional Program 2021-2027 only in Bihor county they will be built 37.64 km of new roads, and other existing county roads with a length of 36.1 km they will be rehabilitated and modernized.
Thanks to this first signed contract, the North-West Regional Program Management Authority 2021-2027 reaffirms its mission to contribute to the development of the region by financing the best projects, which bring the greatest benefits to the inhabitants of the North-West region.
The North-West Regional Program 2021-2027 proposes interventions for the development of research, development, innovation and digitization capacity, increasing the energy performance of the existing public and residential building fund, capitalizing on degraded spaces at the city level, sustainable urban mobility, investments in the network of county roads and in the educational infrastructure, as well as actions to capitalize on the cultural, touristic and spa potential.
In the financial year 2021-2027, public authorities and institutions, the business environment, the academic and research environment and NGOs can obtain funding.
The Northwest Regional Program benefits from a total allocation of 1,437,252,471 euros.
